There's no cream as this isn't a sauce, the pork is coated in grain mustard, ready and on the table in around 30 minutes.

Grain mustard steaks are so easy to make in the oven but you could also cook them in an air fryer. 😉

I'll include the air fryer instructions in the recipe card below.

As for the wholegrain mustard, I use the brand Maille but of course, you can use whichever brand you prefer.

It is worth spending a little more on good quality grain mustard as cheaper brands are far too vinegary in taste.

You can replace it with Dijon if you prefer, but be aware that Dijon is stronger in flavour.

Ingredients

  • 4 thinly cut pork loin steaks - to serve 2, use more if you wish
  • olive oil
  • wholegrain mustard

Yep, that's it!

How long does it take to bake boneless pork chops in the oven?

It depends on how thin or thick they are and how you like them cooked. To be honest we like ours on the well-done side.

Just check on them after 20 minutes to see how they're doing.

It's always a good thing to check the internal temperature of any meat or poultry with a digital thermometer.

There's a handy food cooking temperature guide over at Thermapen (the leading brand in fast-read digital thermometers).

Mustard Pork Chops

Mustard Pork Chops

These oven-baked boneless pork chops can easily be cooked in the air fryer.
Prep time: 2 MinCook time: 30 MinTotal time: 32 Min

Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F or Gas 4
  • 4 thinly cut pork loin steaks - to serve 2, use more if you wish
  • olive oil
  • wholegrain mustard

Instructions

To cook in the oven
  1. Trim them of most but not all, of the fat and lay the pork steaks in a non-stick baking dish.
  2. Smear them with a tiny amount of oil and spoon a good amount of mustard over each one.
  3. Put them into your oven and cook for 25-30 minutes. The exact time will depend on how thick your pork is and how well you like it cooked.
  4. Just remember to turn them halfway through, and add more mustard if you think they need it.
  5. Once cooked to your liking, cover the chops with a foil tent and leave to rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
To cook in an air fryer
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C / 400°F some air fryers do not need to be preheated.
  2. Dry the chops with kitchen paper and then coat them in a tiny amount of oil. Add the grain mustard to your liking.
  3. Put the chops into the air fryer leaving a little space between each one and cook for 10-12 minutes, or longer if the chops are thicker and larger.
  4. Check they are fully cooked through and leave to rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
