Our Wedding Anniversary

Okay, I know this post has nothing to do with the price of eggs!  But we're about to go on holiday and while we're there it will be our 4th Wedding anniversary.
So, I just thought I'd share a couple of pictures.
Here we are at the famous Ironbridge in Shropshire which is just 15 minutes walk from our house.....not that we walked home I might add!  Can you imagine me tripping along the road in that frock?!
When we get back I'll be in full swing and will actually post some recipes for a change!
It's just been a bit hectic here, you know how it is before you go away....washing, ironing, cut the grass, more washing and ironing followed by even more washing and ironing and then packing!
We have 20kg each of what's known as 'checked in' luggage.......mine weighs 19.5kg and Paul's isn't much better at 19.00kg and is mostly my stuff too.
But I say there's some stuff that just has to go with us!
So, after 8 years of being together and four years of being married we're still very happy together.  I love my Paule to bits.....he'll be so embarrassed if he reads this.....'Paule' lol!
Anyway, see you in a couple of weeks!

Birthday Gifts from Hotel Chocolat

Hotel Chocolat have a fantastic range of chocolate birthday gifts to choose from with Guaranteed next working day delivery to the UK mainland addresses.

Recently, I was kindly sent the Summer Desserts collection to review.  They were truly delicious and lovely looking chocolates.
With names like Summer Pudding and Lemon & Passion Fruit Tart, to Chocolate Mousse, Neapolitan, Chocolate Brownie and more.
It was hard to know which one to pick first......
My favourite was the Coconut Bomb - flavours of coconut in creamy white chocolate and finished with coconut pieces giving it a lovely nibbly texture.
Paul (the husband) didn't have a favourite, he would have quite happily eaten the whole box - he said they're all his favourites!
Every gift from Hotel Chocolat is delivered with a gift card including your personal message.

Vanilla Poached Pears with Chocolate Sauce - Tesco Real Food Challenge

Just in case you haven't heard - Tesco are running a competition to find the best Real Food Cook out there in a competition called the Tesco Real Food Challenge!
There are eight mood categories in the competition, each of which is backed by a Celebrity and a Food Blogger.

Do you have a recipe that could be a winner?
If you do, then pop over to Tesco Real Food and enter it now.  There are some fantastic prizes to be won and you could even appear on TV in a show if your recipe gets though.

I'm teamed up with TV celebrity Tim Lovejoy in the category
'Date Night Dinners'.
Tim's recipe for a date night dinner is Vanilla Poached Pears with Chocolate Sauce - and so of course, I had to make it myself - just to make sure it tasted good of course!
Tim's recipe can be found over at the Tesco Real Food Challenge website.
As they say you've got to be in it to win it, so, what food best matches your mood?
My 'Date Night Dinner' recipe for Prawn and Chorizo with Linguine and Chilli can also be found there, although of course, I'm not entered into the competition, it's just my suggestion for a Date Night Dinner.

Griddled Tuna Steaks with a Tomato Caper and Olive Dressing

A while back I went to a Masterclass with Marco Pierre White and Knorr and Marco cooked a lovely tuna dish.  The very next day I made it myself and have been meaning to post it ever since.
So very easy to do and not only tastes good but looks good too.
To be honest you want smaller tomatoes that I could get at the time - just because they'd look better.

Linguine with Prawns Chorizo Sun-dried Tomatoes and Chilli

Yesterday I fancied eating prawns. Why? I've no idea, but you know how you just fancy something sometimes.
Nothing else would do, so prawns it was - time to invent something......
The flavour combo was amazing.  If I do say so myself I did a right good job of this dish and can't wait to make it again.
