In my attempt to get fit, eat healthily and lose this 9lb off of my stomach I've been making smoothies which I have for breakfast.
I've tried this before but, this time I'm really determined to do this and since I bought a FitBit a while back and I actually managed to lose 4 lbs in 6 weeks, which for me, is amazing 😊
Anyway, I even invested in the Aria scales to go with the FitBit so when you weigh yourself these scales record your weight sending it straight to the FitBit app. They're dead accurate and even measure ounces.
I get well excited when I can announce I've lost another one of those dots - meaning when I weighed myself last Saturday said I weighed 8st 10.6lbs.
Today it says 8st 10.4lbs so I can say that's another 2 dots and the 2 dots are on the way to losing another pound 😉

Anyway, back to my smoothie recipe!
Ingredients
- 250ml semi-skimmed milk - or cashew milk
- 200g frozen mixed berries
- 200g fat-free bio yoghurt - I used strawberry
- 1 x frozen medium-sized banana
- 20g rolled porridge oats
Because of the added rolled oats and the banana, this smoothie is really quite filling which is how comes I can get away with having it for breakfast - it keeps me going until lunch.
My problem is, I'm not good at lunch. Basically, I am too busy and most of the time I don't get around to making anything.
How to freeze bananas
Peel and slice each banana. Line a tray with greaseproof paper and lay the slices side by side in a single layer.
Cover with cling film and freeze for about 2 hours. Once frozen pop the slices into a freezer bag and they're ready to use in smoothies whenever you fancy.
Equipment
You will need a decent blender if you are going to blend frozen fruits otherwise you WILL break the blades or burn out the motor. 😱
I have a Froothie power blender, but they are expensive. Ninja have a good blender, which as far as I can see is fine for such a thing.
To make the smoothie
All you do is add the milk to the blender jug first followed by the rest of the ingredients and blend - that's it!
You can sweeten the smoothie with a little honey if you wish, but I don't think it needs it.
