Delonghi Argento White 4 Slot Toaster - Review

When you're looking at buying a new toaster it can be a right pain trying to find one that actually toasts bread evenly.  Of course you never find out till you've got it home and tried it; but of course once you've used it you can't take it back (unless of course it happens to be faulty.  So when I was asked by House of Fraser to pick a toaster to review it was tricky since they have a fantastically huge range of Toasters to choose from at prices to suit all budgets.

It was love at first sight when I spied this one; the Delonghi Argento White 4 Slot Toaster. The Brilliant White Matt look is too nice; at the moment I'm really into kitchen stuff that happens to be white!

Now although my photos don't really do this toaster justice, I'm hoping my review will give you an idea of whether this toaster is the right one for you.

Toaster Review

This 4 Slice Toaster can toast any amount of bread between 1 and 4 slices.

The best bit is this; if one of you likes their toast more done than the other then it's not a problem, just turn the dials on each of the two controls to either 1 to 6 (1 for pale toast to 6 being dark).

We found that if the dial is set as shown the toast is pretty much perfect to how we like toast to be.

The slots are quite wide and so it's suitable for hand cut bread or bagels as well as pre-sliced bread.  I particularly like Warburtons Farmhouse (just saying) and although the slices are quite large they do fit into this toaster easily and without sticking out  of the top (meaning there would be a bit that didn't get toasted) and that wouldn't do.

There's a Re-Heat function too which is handy if the phone happens to ring just as your toast is ready as it does re-heat without the toast turning into a cinder.

You can also cancel toasting during mid-cycle at the press of a button.  The Defrost function comes in handy when you realise your bread is frozen because you forgot to get it out of the freezer; I often do that.

Each side of the toaster has its own separate Crumb tray so if you only use one side to toast then of course you only need to clean one tray, marvelous!

As far as toasting bread goes I wouldn't say it cooks absolutely 100% evenly as you can see, but it's easily good enough for me and I'm fussy.

The other side was slightly lighter but all okay.

Oh and by the way there's also a matching kettle available too; both are available in different colours to suit your kitchen.

The Delonghi Argento White 4 Slot Toaster comes with 1 year guarantee.  I've had a lot of toasters over the years and this one gets a bit fat YES from me.  It not only looks good but probably more importantly, it toasts bread pretty evenly too.

Disclosure:  Many thanks to House of Fraser for sending me this toaster to review.  As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.  I was not required to write anything positive.
