ALDI Turns 25 - Celebrate with Shooting Star Cocktail

Aldi supermarket chain has created four lovely cocktails to celebrate their 25th Anniversary in style!

I must say I'm a big fan of Aldi's fruit and veg; they really are loads cheaper and excellent quality too.  Last year I took it upon myself to do a quick post about how to save money on supermarket shopping showing how much I saved compared to the same shop in one of the larger and very well known supermarkets.

Back to the celebrations;  Aldi very kindly sent me a hamper with the ingredients to create their cocktail named Shooting Star - Vodka and fruit juice create the perfect base for a cocktail, and a dash of Prosecco adds a subtle sparkle.

Shooting Star

25ml Tamova Vodka
25ml of raspberry juice from raspberries
2.5 teaspoons of sugar
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Spumante DOCG, as desired

Decoration/to serve:
3 apple slices
2 raspberries

Defrost half a pack of raspberries and sprinkle with sugar
Squeeze the juice from the raspberries and collect in the bottom of the glass
Add 25ml of Vodka and stir to combine
Gently pour the Prosecco over a spoon into the glass, then add the three frozen raspberries and apple slices to garnish.

Raise a glass to many more years of Aldi in the UK cheers!

So far in 2015, Aldi has been named International Retailer of the Year at the Retail Week Awards and Multiple Wine Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Retailing Awards.

Disclaimer:  I was sent a hamper of everything necessary to create Aldi's cocktail.  All thoughts and opinions are my own as is the photograph.

  1. Ooh I think this would go down rather too nicely! Sounds gorgeous!

  2. I love Aldi, they're always noticeably cheaper than other shops. Hope they stick around for another 25 years! ;)

  3. Happy birthday Aldi! I am going there to shop later actually. Cheers!
