Yogurt Ideas - Strawberry and Marshmallow or Banana and Chocolate Chip

Strawberry and Marshmallow or Banana and Chocolate Chip - which would you choose?
You may have seen my post 'How to Make Yogurt using the Judge Digital Yogurt Maker' which was my first attempt.  I made Summer Berry and Vanilla yogurt but if you missed it just click the link and have a quick read.  I said I'd come up with a few more ideas and since this yogurt maker is so very easy to use, I've not stopped using it since it arrived!

I made yogurt in the usual fashion following the easy to follow instructions that came with it.  As before, I used Jersey milk and Yeo Valley Natural Live Bio Yogurt as the 'yogurt starter'.
But time I wondered what would happen if I added banana flavoured Nesquik to the prepared milk (once it had reached the cooled down to 40C stage and after mixing in the yogurt starter (live yogurt).

How to Make Yogurt using the Judge Digital Yogurt Maker

I'd wanted to make yogurt for ages but had never got round to it apart from using an EasiYo yogurt maker - more on that later.  Having recently been sent this brilliant electric yogurt maker by Judge Cookware I couldn't wait to give it a go.
If you've ever wondered about buying one then I say if you love yogurt this gadget is the very fellow for the job as it really is so easy to use.  This was my very first attempt and it worked out really well - Summer Berry Yogurt with Vanilla.

More about making yogurt with the EasiYo - which has to be said it is a great invention.  I really like mine but I have stopped using it as I found it to be too expensive to keep buying the powered sachets you need.

Silicone Oven Mitt Range - Judge Cookware

Let me tell you about the new range of Silicon and Textile Oven Gloves, Mitts and Pot Holders from Judge Cookware.
They're made from nice soft quilted cotton coated in silicone and are heat resistant up to 240°C

Having tried the traditional oven mitt and the pot holder myself I must say they are the first oven mitts I've ever felt really comfortable using.  I will admit I almost always pick up a tea towel to remove pans from the oven as I feel more secure and less lightly to drop a tray or pan.
But the Judge traditional oven mitt isn't bulky like some are and doesn't feel too big.  The silicone gives a really firm, non-slip grip and I've used mine every day since it arrived.

Judge Photovoltaic Solar Kitchen Scales - Review

How many times have you gone to weigh something only to find your scales are in need new batteries?  My answer would be quite a few.
So with that alone in mind, the new energy efficient J415 Solar Scale from Judge Cookware are in my opinion, quite brilliant.

If the scales have been stored away from light they are up and running ready to weigh within just 60-90 seconds.

There has also been many times when I've wanted to use a certain bowl to weigh ingredients before then going on to mix in that same bowl and most scales simply can't cope, so I'm loving the high weight capacity of 5kg/11lb

Giveaway - Oval Roaster from Judge Cookware

This lovely shiny bright Red Oval Roaster from Judge Cookware is perfect for cooking anything almost you fancy.  Not only can it go into the oven, but it can be used on the stove top too!
Suitable for all hob types including induction and large enough to cook the biggest of chickens.

Pop the lid on and your chicken stays incredibly moist during cooking and it will help keep your oven clean too!

With the lid on, does the chicken still brown during cooking?
In a word yes it does, I've tried it.  The dimples in the lid make it self-basting keeping your chicken nice and juicy as it cooks, leaving you to get on with the rest of the dinner.

Crafted from Carbon Steel;
There’s a heavy enamel coating on all the products, additionally there’s a Teflon Classic non-stick coating on the interior of the fry pans and saucepans.

The 14 items that make up the Judge Induction range are not only designed to work efficiently on induction hobs, but are also suitable for all other hob types.  By the way, the stove-top pans have heat resistant Phenolic handles, for assured safety.
Easy to clean and are dishwasher safe.  All items have a 5 year guarantee.

This very attractive bright Red is part of the existing induction range which is already available in Cream, Green, White and Black.  Everything from Bread Crock to Stockpot and Oval Roaster, this beautifully styled collection allows you to completely co-ordinate, or mix and match, your kitchen content.

Slow Cooker - Spicy Chicken Stew with Sweet Peppers and Cannellini Beans

It has to be said, this slow cooker by Judge Cookware is excellent value for money.  If you want to cook for one or two people then the 1.5 litre is the way to go.  This model is also available in larger sizes 3.5L and 5L capacity.

Recommended by Delia too!
Being a bit of a fan of slow cookers in general (and you could say I have an obsession with them) I now have four.  My largest is 6.5L but I seldom use it.  There are only two of us and I've found this size 1.5L to be perfect.

Sweet Chilli Pork Patties and Mincing your own Meat!

This recipe came about as a result of trying out my shiny new Multi-function mincer by Judge.  I had to mince something to test it out and as pork came to mind - sweet chilli pork patties had to happen.

I never buy prepacked ready made burgers because you just don't know what you're going to get.  I always buy good quality mince but it has to be said there's nothing better than to mince your own meat so you know exactly what you're eating!

Kitchen Gadgets Grate to Plate - Review

Okay this may not be the fanciest looking grater you've ever seen - but it does the job of grating and slicing really well.

It comes with three different steel blades that are easy to change.  Just slide one out and slide another in.

The suction feet grip to virtually any work surface including wood making it non slip and safe to use.  The feet then fold neatly underneath for storage after use so it won't take up much room in your cupboard.

Judge Jubilee Milk or Sauce Pot - Review

My first impressions:  What a lovely looking sauce pot!  Nicely polished stainless steel, I think it looks great and is just the very fellow for making sauces, custard or gravy.

Whenever I make gravy for the Sunday roast I moan about our saucepan taking forever to heat up due to the pan being far too thick and not distributing heat efficiently.
Now, having been sent this Judge Jubilee milk/sauce pot to try it seems I now won't have that problem anymore!

The thick thermic base distributes heat evenly and I found it heated up the gravy in no time at all.
There's a handy measuring guide inside the pot too and all the pans in the Jubilee range can be used on ALL hob types even induction hobs.

How to Remove Onion Garlic and Fish Odor from your Hands

There are many weird and wonderful ideas out there on how to rid your hands of cooking odors such as onion, garlic and fish.  However, many of them seem a bit of a faff to me involving lemons and even tomato juice.

Now, I've seen these stainless steel soap bars before and never really looked twice at them as I didn't think they would work.

Oh but they do!
I'm forever chopping onions and garlic this works a treat.  You just wash your hands under running water with the steel soap bar for 40 seconds and then of course, wash your hands in the normal fashion with your usual hand wash.

Seriously, all smell of onion, garlic and fish - GONE!
Amazing but don't be asking me how it works - some kind of scientific thing I think!

This Stainless steel soap bar retails at around £4 and comes with its own holder and you can pop over to Judge to find out your local stockist.

Thanks to Pam for sending me this to review.
